Overview

The Valley of Flowers, nestled in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its stunning natural beauty and rich diversity of flora. The Valley of Flowers is home to an astonishing array of endemic and rare flowers, including the Blue Poppy, Brahma Kamal, Cobra Lily, and Primula. This rich biodiversity, with over 500 species of flowers, makes the valley a hotspot for botanists and researchers, while also offering a breathtaking experience for casual visitors. The valley is at its most vibrant during the monsoon season, when the flowers are in full bloom, creating a stunning natural spectacle.

Itinerary

Day 0: Departure from Delhi to Rishikesh

10:30 PM: Depart from Delhi (RK Ashram/Kashmiri Gate) in an AC Sleeper Volvo.
Enjoy a pit stop for dinner at a decent roadside restaurant before continuing the overnight journey to Rishikesh.

Day 1: Arrive in Rishikesh | Transfer to Joshimath | Overnight Stay

6:30 AM: Upon arrival in Rishikesh, you will be picked up and transferred to Joshimath (a town in the Chamoli District of Uttarakhand) via a scenic 8-9 hour drive (290 km).
Spend the day exploring Joshimath, including visits to the Narasimha Temple and Shankaracharya Math.
Overnight stay at a hotel in Joshimath.

Day 2: Joshimath to Pulna | Trek to Ghangaria | Overnight Stay

After an early morning breakfast, attend a briefing session where all necessary details about the Valley of Flowers trek will be shared.
Drive to Pulna, the starting point of the trek.
Begin your trek to Ghangaria village, reaching by the afternoon.
Post check-in, enjoy lunch at your hotel, followed by leisure time.
Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Ghangaria.

Day 3: Ghangaria to Valley of Flowers | Return to Ghangaria | Overnight Stay

Start your day with a hearty breakfast before heading towards the Forest Check Post.
Midway, enjoy a packed lunch as you trek towards the Valley of Flowers, the main attraction of the journey.
After spending quality time in the Valley of Flowers, begin your descent back to Ghangaria village.
Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Ghangaria.

Day 4: Ghangaria to Hemkund Sahib | Return to Ghangaria | Overnight Stay

After breakfast, embark on the trek to Gurudwara Shri Hemkund Sahib Ji, the world’s highest Gurudwara.
Enjoy a packed lunch while trekking.
Arrive at Hemkund Sahib by the afternoon, where you will spend some time in reflection and prayer.
Later, descend back to Ghangaria village.
Refresh at the hotel, followed by dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Ghangaria to Govindghat | Transfer to Joshimath | Overnight Stay

Wake up and enjoy breakfast before starting the trek back to Govindghat.
Upon reaching Govindghat, transfer to Joshimath, checking into your accommodation by the evening.
Lunch will be served after check-in, and you’ll have time to explore Dham and Mana village on your own.
Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Joshimath.

Day 6: Joshimath to Rishikesh | Overnight Journey to Delhi

Wake up early to witness the first rays of the sun on the mountains.
After breakfast, check out from the hotel or homestay and start the journey back to Rishikesh.
Arrive in Rishikesh by the evening.
Say goodbye to your fellow travelers before heading back to Delhi.
